Purpose: digital information and facts portal. Publication of editorial and advertising content on faktowo.com and on social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook).

Fundamental direction: independent dissemination of news, facts and knowledge to a Polish- and English-speaking audience. Promotion of an informed and responsible community.

Ownership structure: Ariel Kuczma – general partner – 51 %; Daniel Kiefmann – limited partner – 49 %.

Dispute resolution

We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. If you have questions or concerns, write to us – we answer quickly.

Privacy policy

1. Principles

We process personal data only to the extent necessary to run the site and our services – on the basis of the GDPR, the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG) and the Telecommunications Act (TKG 2021). This policy covers the faktowo.com website and our app “Faktowo Dashboard”, which connects to our Facebook Page and Instagram account (section 7).

2. Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. (340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA). Vercel is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR). Each visit automatically records: IP address, date and time, page accessed, data volume, browser type, operating system, referrer. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (security and stability of the site). Logs are deleted after a short time.

3. Newsletter

Newsletter sign-up currently works by e-mail to us (the form opens your mail app). We then process your e-mail address solely to send the newsletter. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). You can withdraw consent at any time by writing to us. If we start using a mailing service in future, we will name the provider here.

4. E-mail contact

When you write to kontakt@faktowo.com, we process your e-mail address, name (if given), message content and time. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. Retention: until the matter is settled, at most 6 months after the correspondence ends.

5. Browser storage and cookies

Your cookie choice and saved articles are stored only locally in your browser (localStorage). This data is not sent to us. Analytics or marketing tools are loaded only after your explicit consent in the cookie banner – we currently use none. See the cookie policy for details.

6. Social media

We run profiles on Instagram and Facebook (@faktowopl), operated by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. When you visit our profiles, the platform operator processes your data under its own privacy policy (https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/). faktowo.com embeds no social plugins – links to our profiles are plain links.

We retrieve statistics and public comments from our own profiles through our app “Faktowo Dashboard” (section 7). Besides Meta Platforms, the recipients of this data are Anthropic PBC (USA, comment data only) and Telegram (notifications for our team).

7. The “Faktowo Dashboard” app (Meta Graph API)

The app uses the official Meta Graph API and connects only to our own Facebook Page “Faktowo” and our own Instagram account @faktowopl. We do not collect data from other Pages or profiles, and we do not scrape.

What data we process:

• statistics for our own posts: views, reactions, shares and saves,
• public comments under our own posts: text, time posted, number of likes, where applicable the name and ID of the person commenting, and replies under the comment.

Why we do this:

• to see which content our readers respond to,
• to translate and summarise comments for our editorial team,
• to prepare suggested replies to comments – a human reviews and approves every suggestion before it is published as a reply from the Faktowo Page. There are no automatic replies.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – our legitimate interest in understanding how our content is received and in responding to our readers.

Recipients of the data:

• Meta Platforms – the source of the data; our Facebook Page and Instagram account run on Meta's platforms,
• Anthropic PBC (USA) – an AI service provider that analyses, translates and summarises content on our behalf; it receives comment data only,
• Telegram – internal notifications for our team.

We do not pass data to anyone else, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.

We keep the data within our team for as long as it is needed for analysis, and no longer than 24 months. After that we delete it. How to request deletion of your data is explained step by step at https://faktowo.com/en/data-deletion.

8. Transfers to third countries

Data may reach the USA via Vercel Inc. (hosting) and – comment data from our profiles only – via Anthropic PBC (AI services). Notifications for our team are sent via Telegram. These transfers are based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR) or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 GDPR). We transfer no other data to third countries.

We use SSL/TLS encryption, regular updates and need-to-know access restrictions.

Terms of use

1. Scope

These terms govern the use of faktowo.com, operated by Faktowo KG. Use of the site is free and requires no registration.

2. Content

We publish short fact-based articles built on the sources cited. Content is informational and educational – it does not replace advice from a doctor, lawyer or financial adviser. Some content is produced with the help of AI tools and is checked by our editors before publication.

3. Copyright

Texts, audio recordings and graphics are protected by copyright. Quoting excerpts with attribution and a link to the article is permitted. Copying whole articles, recordings or graphics requires our written consent.

4. Partner content

Partner slots and sponsored content are clearly labelled. They do not influence the editorial content of articles.

5. Liability

We aim to keep the site running smoothly but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We are not responsible for the content of external sites we link to.

6. Governing law

Austrian law applies. For consumers in the EU, the mandatory provisions of their country of residence remain unaffected.

7. Changes

We may amend these terms; the current version is published on this page.

Cookie policy

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Browser local storage (localStorage), which we use for your settings, works in a similar way.

2. What we store

The “Analytics” and “Marketing” categories in the banner are optional. We currently load no analytics or marketing tools. If we add one in future, it will run only for people who have consented – and this policy will be updated first.

3. Legal basis

Essential cookies: § 165(3) TKG 2021 and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – no consent needed. Optional ones: only with your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time – the “Cookies” link in the footer reopens the settings.
